Grace Chapel Team Arrives!!!

The team from Grace Chapel is from Alice’s home church.  You can imagine how excited I am to have them here!!!  They are working with the street children’s ministry, Pambila, run by Noel and Manja Soetaert.  They will do many different things …
The Grace Chapel team landed at 6:30 a.m. instead of 2:30 a.m., due to […]

Northmar team misc. pictures: final days

Well, this is it!!! Here are some final pictures of fun, ministry and some “experiencing culture.”  This team was great, and we are missing them!  They seemed to have learned a lot, and they made an impact here.  Exactly what a team is meant to do!

Pray for 2 teams

Though I will continue to post pictures of the Northmar team’s last days here, I would ask for prayer…
1)  For safety as this team travels back home and for a good re-integration back into their American lives — applying the things they’ve seen and learned to their lives in the States.
2)  Please pray for a […]

Northmar digs ditches

When the team got to the work site on Monday, they discovered that the church youth had already dug some of the foundation ditches.  How exciting!  It was neat to see the youth participating and taking ownership of their building.  The team continued digging, and then laid the foundation of “natural rock” and cement.  By […]

Northmar goes to church and takes a “day of rest!”

The team enjoyed a Burkinabe service — with a lot of singing, and a serman translated into 2 languages (3 for them!) They sang a song in the service, and then at the end, they presented the church with a guitar. Everyone was PSYCHED!!! I’m going to see if I can succeed in posting a […]

Northmar visits the Crocodiles

On the way to Bobo (where the team is presently digging a foundation) they stopped to visit the sacred crocodiles…

Popcorn Prayer: Pete’s better! Pray for Sammy

Thanks for praying for Pete!  He is better now.  Still a bit weak, I think (but malaria does that to you for a week or so), but he was feeling good pretty quickly.
We are enjoying the team.  Keep praying for their good health and safety.  So far, so good!  :-)   To follow what they are doing, […]

Northmar team goes to “the rocks.”

One evening, the team was treated to a picnic at the Rocks by the Bobo missionaries. This is a rocky place that becomes a river with small waterfalls when it rains. It’s a fun place to gather and eat.
You can hike down through rocks to the bottom and see some giant (sacred) catfish. Quite slimy […]

The Northmar Team Clears Land

The team’s job this week is to dig and lay the foundation for a youth center on the Colma Property in Bobo. In addition to the church that’s already there, there will also be a primary school, a high school, a widow’s center, a conference center, and a guest house. Wow! how exciting!
This property was […]

Northmar visits their Compassion Kids

In the morning, the team split up into groups to visit different Compassion Int’l children that the team members supported. They visited the kids at their Compassion sites, and then went to their homes. They showered them with gifts and love.
In the afternoon, Compassion planned something special for the kids and the team. A once-in-a […]
